Let's Meet the Doc...
Dr. Matt Winn DC, MS grew up in sunny California, where he enjoyed lots of sunshine, blue skies, and a handful of organized sports such as football, baseball, wrestling, and track and field. His accomplishments on the football field and around the track earned him a spot playing football at Brigham Young University (BYU). Needless to say, physical fitness, health, and athletic performance has been a major aspect of his life since childhood.
Dr. Matt has worked in the healthcare industry for 15+ years. His career began in Nursing, where he learned the healing power of human connection and bedside manner. Seeing/treating patients in the hospital only grew his passion for more natural, physical medicine and helping people BEFORE they become hospitalized.
After completing his Bachelor's of Science degree in Exercise Science from BYU ('12), Dr. Matt transitioned into the field of Physical Therapy. Over the next 8 years, he became a Personal Trainer, acquired several certifications, became a STOTT Pilates Instructor, worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant, and also went back to school for a Master's Degree in Sports Science and Rehabilitation, graduating Valedictorian of his class from Logan University ('20). After nearly a decade in Personal Training and Physical Therapy, Dr. Matt made another career shift to Chiropractic Physician. He graduated Magnum Cum Laude from Logan University ('23), and moved back to Utah to be close to family.
Dr. Matt believes in the biopsychosocial model of care, which emphasizes a holistic approach to health and illness that considers the interplay of biological, psychological, and social factors, rather than focusing solely on biology. He also utilizes a wide variety of chiropractic and physical therapy techniques to serve a broader population and provide more comprehensive results.
With a wife, three young boys, and a new puppy at home, Dr. Matt stays very busy outside of work. He enjoys a good pick-up game, camping, hunting, hiking, and challenging himself physically, mentally, and spiritually. He has been known to take life a little too seriously at times, so don't be afraid to throw a little salty humor at him every now an again.
